Three very nice snowdrops, Hagen. I do especially like snowdrops with very dark green marks like the one in your second photo. It would be nice to see a photo of 'Geister Schwingen' when the outer segments are more raised up - I expect it will look very elegant then.

Mark, GEISTERSCHWINGEN means Ghostwings, because you can`t real see but feel the reflection of the sinus mark. NARRENGESICHT is the face of a mask of carnival.

Martin, here is another pic of GEISTERSCHWINGEN.

Here is the high season of G. nivalis now. Brand new is GRÜNER SPLITTER, a G. nivalis virescens, that is a splitter.

Very pretty, Hagen. When you say it's a splitter, do you mean the spathe splits?

Hi Martin, I have some G.n.v, which have only one bulb and don`t like to get a daughterbulb. I mean it were your words that cultivars that split good, are called "splitter"?!
GREEN SPLITTER splits the bulbs good.

Hagen, I did wonder if perhaps that was what you meant - that it's a rapid bulb splitter and clumper. But the spathe splitting seemed another possibility.

Martin, you wrote: Generally speaking, there's a very wide range of bulking-up speeds between different snowdrops. In the wild, snowdrops are generally found as single bulbs, with just the occasional clump where an individual has the genetic makeup required to make it a splitter.
