A thing of delicate, exquisite beauty. Wood Sorrel (Oxalis acetosella) is a common plant most would hardly notice it on the woodland floor. This one I spotted today when attempting to photograph green woodpeckers was at eye level growing in detritus that had gathered in the bark of an ancient pubescent birch tree. It really shows it off for the beauty it is. It was also easier to photograph than green woodpeckers.
