Narcissus "Idol"

(1/2) > >>

Jack Meatcher:
Several years ago I bought a Narcissus labelled as "Idol". A single bulb survived for a few years but didn't seem to increase. However, this Winter it seems to have got going and I now have three small clumps in a 10cm pot. When it flowers, the flowers are really small but beautiful. For me, it's in the same pleasure category as my N. asturiensis grown from JCA seed. However, I can't find it listed/described in the few Narcissus books I have. Does anyone know its origins/progeny?
Thanks in advance

Could it  be Narcissus calcicola "Idol"

Jack Meatcher:
Thank you Axel for the identification and link to the picture. The moment I read N. calcicola "Idol" I remembered the original label.  Old brain getting forgetful.
Best wishes

Since I am a bit older, I compare my brain with a steady growing library. The shelfs get higher and  many are more or less covered with dust. The librarian needs more time to run along the growing corridors and bit slower climbing the higher ladder.
For those who knew a lot, google is a good tool, with the experience of a enthusiast we are able to sail on this vast ocean and avoid the shallows of fake news.
At least that is my hope..

Gerdk:
Axel - it may also  happen that you want to visit the library and along the way
you forgot what you actually wanted to do there    ;D
