Bulb Log 19 - 7th May 2008
« on: May 08, 2008, 01:16:26 AM »
Ian,

Those Erythroniums are just wonderful - with or without rain.  E Joanna is a really lovely blend of colour and I remember the sigh that went up from your audience when you showed E Susannah and some of the Craigton series at the study week-end in Christchurch earlier this year.  Oh that we could grow them half as well.

Susan.

Susan, I only wish you could get them out in New Zealand but I know that you have some great forms and hybrids out there already like E. 'Ruapuna Dawn'.
Get seed and keep sowing and eventually you will get good selections.
The sunshine and warm weather these last four days is reminding me of my trip down under where I last enjoyed the warmth. 8)

Franz, coming from such a skilled grower as you I take that as a great compliment, thank you.

Ian,

Very Scottish weather here today - a wee bit of rain and a wee bit of mist.

Will take your advice and keep on with the seed. They are well worth it.

I agree with Franz' comment.

Ian - Your bulb log is what the internet should be all about...useful, informative, entertaining, authoritative and based on experience. And then there are the excellent photographs to round off the stories. Hats off to you!
