Happy Monsoon, Ian! I always think of you as I'm watering my babies.
I was watching the insects enjoying my alliums today too. Here are an assortment of hoverflies on my garlic chives (Allium tuberosum)

Lovely pictures Anne, I am seeing the number of hoverflies increasing here. They usually peak in numbers at the same time as the autumn crocus and colchicums come into flower. No doubt they are attracted from far and wide to the food source.
