Arum jacquemontii
« on: September 08, 2022, 03:54:47 PM »
Hello All,

I am looking for seeds (or tubers) of Arum jacquemontii. Its a species that is seldom grown in the UK for some reason, although a couple of botanic gardens have it.
I am the National Collection holder for Arums, but this species eludes me.
I know Jan Jilek has seeds for sale every year, but his reputation for not sending out paid for orders puts me off.
I have grown seed from the AGS where it id often listed, but four previous seed lots have grown into A. maculatum.

If anyone can help at all, or has any leads, it would be very much appreciated.

I can pay or send out other Arum species/cultivars in exchange if interested.

Thanks

Chris

Chris,

I have 5 planted but unsprouted seeds of Arum jacquemontii in my refrigerator. I don't remember where I purchased them. Most Arums are very slow germinators.

If more than 2 grow successfully, I will be willing to send you one [gratis] , after they are mature enough to survive transit. The Phyto will cost $61, which will be your responsibility.

The one should reproduce vegitatively after 2 or 3 years.
