very excitedly - have you seen it, have you seen it? Absolutely stunning. To my eye dark reddish purple on the outside of the outer three petals and lighter purple on the inside of the same three petals

It's the the Czech Rock Garden Club mag that arrived today
"Vaclav Lajn selected this Crocus under Great Chimgan, 3309m, in central Asia. He has grown it in a frame in a pot since 1987. 8 bulbs together. This early species is very lazy in it's multiplication. The described clone with violet tepals inside and out is very shy at increasing it's corms and only sets seeds sporadically. Another of his selections is a creamy yellow clone in bud with all tepals white. Mineral rich soil and a dry summer rest is important for sucessful cultivation"

Maggi Young:
Sounds very interesting, I haven't seen it.

Mark - you'll have to secure a picture for us.  ... or is everyone else a member of the said soc? :)
C alatavicus is one that I do not find easy, it is a long way from home here.  'Lazy' in its increase eh ... well tell it to pull its socks up ;D

mark smyth:
I'll get a photo from ZZ

tonyg:
Don't be long or I'll be ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz  -_-
