I think the  lady  for  whom Galanthus  'Mary Hely-Hutchinson' was
named   must  be  a  relation to this  one....      https://www.npg.org.uk/collections/search/person/mp151965/mary-louisa-hely-hutchinson-nee-tottenham

The season has started! First snowdrops in the garden are 'Barnes' heaving a sigh of relief after being unearthed from the neighbouring Francoa.

G. cilicicus
G. sp. from Theoktisto in Arkadia, presumably just a late form of G. reginae-olgae but nicely scented.

Galanthus 'Happy New Year', from nijssentuin.nl, flowered last season on 11 January 2020, hence the herbarium. This season more than a month ahead, photo's taken today.

It is said to be an early flowering one but not sure that it is always this early. But I do also have Three Ships in full flower and G. reginae-olgae 'Christine' which is meant to be a 'vernalis' (spring-flowering) form...
