Clematis stans from Japan. Scented and adored by bees.

Clematis
'Alba Luxurians' did fairly well here this year, flowering since early June & only tapering down now.
C. connata
a Chadwell coll. from Ladakh, living up to its name.

Thank you, Ashley, for posting the photo of Clematis connata. I have grown this from CC seed too, but couldn’t find the label this year. I just could not remember what it was called, it has been annoying me for weeks!

You're welcome Carolyn.
Unfortunately my label has gone missing too, but according to an old gardening notebook the seed came under CC7137 in December 2012, with a question mark on the species name. However I think it's clearly
connata
. It's a quiet beauty with a gentle scent that reminds me of primroses.

Ah, thanks for that collection number, that’s the right one, I knew it was 7-something.

it 's charming, this Clematis connata... its leaves look like a white nettle?
I can't always get seeds from some clematis:
Clematis cirrhosa
,
Clematis aff. songarica,
or very few seeds of
Clematis viticella
... do they need cross-pollination?
