It's always exciting to see the first bloom of a new season, isn't it?  It's a treat that keeps us all going!

So very true Maggi; it's that great mix of anticipation, hope and 'the day before Christmas' feeling :-)

Both C. vallicola clones are blooming now at the same time.
One is from Trabzon, Turkey and unfortunately the origin of the second is unkown.

Because it's interesting and fun to note intraspecific differences I post them here:

And then in the bulbhouse quickly followed by C. hakkariensis which almost 'popped up like a mushroom'...
