Thought I would just add a couple of photos of our paddock on the other side of the garden fence in summer.
Must have been a heck of a flood to get the logs up against the red gum's trunk. the river can come up to the top of the bank on the left of this photo.

How big is that Eriogonum?  It looks massive?

Lovely to see views of your country as it gives a great impression of the countryside and the growing conditions for your plants.

And how big is the puffball?

The Eriogonum giganteum (St Catherine's Lace) is about 5ft tall and wide with the flowers out on their stems. Withstands so much drought - I have a smaller one that has not been watered for years.
The puffball is about 6 inches wide I guess without checking - will check later and let you know.
There was quite a few of them up there near that gum tree with the strange square on the trunk.
