Dr Fay Edwards has left her AGS post  to pursue  a new career in consultancy...... good luck , Fay! https://fayedwards.com/

The Alpine Garden Soc.  have appointed Razvan Chisu as the social media manager - we wish Raz, who will be fondly remembered as a valued contributor to the SRGC forum, every success in this role & hope to see the great vibe between the two clubs continue!

 From the AGS:

"We are delighted to announce that Razvan Chisu has recently been appointed as social media manager responsible for the society’s online presence. In this role Razvan will manage and edit the digital content on our website. In addition he will help raise our society’s profile on various social media channels.

Razvan grew up in Romania in a mountainous area of Transylvania. His interest in alpine plants was sparked after reading a book on the subject. He joined the AGS aged 14 and has been a member ever since. After moving to the UK he volunteered to be speaker secretary in a local group. In addition he helped build displays at the RHS Tatton and Chelsea flower shows for several years running.

As a professional horticulturalist, he used to divide his time between garden design jobs, giving lectures and running plant hunting tours. His plant interests are diverse and wide ranging. These are reflected in articles that have been published in various gardening journals.

We look forward to working with Razvan and welcome him to our team."

‘I am very excited and happy to have the opportunity of promoting alpine plants to a wider audience. At the same time I’ll strive to strengthen a feeling of community among our existing members’ – Razvan Chisu

Great news but I don't envy them in a tent at 28/29 Centigrade today.

No indeed - if it were me I would be doing a sprinkler demonstration!
