A Scottish Lion Rampant is the yellow flag, Mark... the hall seems very proudly Scottish... the flags are always there!
For an editor, there is always the next issue, Mark. I should get your article off to Anton sharpish!!

Maggi, it was definitely labelled froschii, and I seem to think there are variations in colour, but the shape of the flower was too perfect.

1) left to right:  David Shaw, Show Secretary Julia Corden, Lyn Bezzant
2 and 3  fuzzy shots of Fritillaria eastwoodiae
4)  show hall
5) Haastia pulvinaris with a little Gentiana oschtenica behind to the left
6) As Julia checks some results on her lapto, Lyn Bezzant conducts a choir rehearsal in the background.... to sing Jean Happy Birthday, perhaps??
7) Julia, Fred Hunt, Alice Hunt, David Shaw, Ron Bezzant Carol Shaw
8  ) Kelseya uniflora behind a wonderful Saxifraga whose name escapes me! these from Carole and Ian Bainbridge
9) This was a Paraquilegia with lots of flowers , but the whole thing was just too drawn and floppy :'(
10) This large flowered form of Sebaea thomasii was rom Keith Lever. Great to have Keith... and his plants stall up in Scotland for an all too rare visit!

..........I'm on a rol with Ian's pix now.. ;)
1 long bench view
2 These Tulips batalinii were rather TOO TALL, though otherwise in good health
3 That Meconopsis punices again!
4 What a a delight to see these two folk after several years' absence... David Howat and his daughter Pamela.... David used to be the Perth Show Secretay. Pamela was a great help to him then and used to exhibit in the Junior section. It was really good to meet them again.

Another pair of faces I was delighted to see were John and Christine Lawson  (now living in  Kincraig, about a mile or so as the crow flies from Inshriach!).... many of you (most??!!) will know John from his many many years at Jack Drake's Nursery at Inshriach, by Aviemore.... John worked with Jack and took over the nursery from him when he retired. John shocked me by mentioning that it is ten years now since THEY retired... cannot believe it has been so long.... sorry no pic of this charming couple... i was too busy chatting and Ian was at lunch :-[
Back to some plants....
5 Primula elatior from Dr Rock (David Millward)
6 This primula is named after a famous rock gardener.... this is Primula 'Harry Jans'
7 Here's a close up of the stunning  Primula maximowiczii... I LOVE this colour and the shape ofthe flowers... I even like the scent, which some said is not good!
8 An artistic planting of Primula vulgaris, shown by Mike Dale, show secretary for the Ponteland show.
9 A fab bright Tulipa
10 Saxifraga federici-augustii ssp. grisebachi 'Wisley'

Maggi thank you soooo much for all these pictures.
It was almost like being there.
Beautiful!
Luit van Delft, right in the heart of the beautiful flowerbulb district, Noordwijkerhout, Holland.

Sadly Luit died on 14th October 2016 - happily we can still enjoy his posts to the Forum
