growing regelia Iris indoor
« on: January 23, 2017, 10:42:28 PM »
Hello anyone
I ordered aril  Iris x Teucros  from Augis bulbs in  summer and got it in October 2016. Since there was not enough time to plant it outside (Saskatoon winter usually starts early and severe  but not last year) I kept them in +4C in the fridge in extremely draining clay pellet .
Today I saw the rhizome started having new roots.
How soon should I replant them in pot and what type of soil composition I should have. I can grow them inside under light till the whether outside gets better.
Please help me

I would re-plant now in a very open free-draining soil mix. I would suggest an equal mixture of sandy soil with perlite and pumice.

Thanks Steve.
I will do that
what do you suggest about the light. Can I keep it under light  at around 20C or still keep it at 4C inside the fridge till the buds come out.

I would keep it cool in the fridge for as long as possible but if it is clear that growth is proceeding fast then place under lights.

I am told that Augis  Bulbs' website is infected by a rather nasty virus so I advise only contacting Eugenijus Dambrauskas by email if you have it. I think it worth giving this warning here!
Avoid his  website !

Thanks Maggi. It is a good that I did not contact him.
When I need any advice the forum is the first one comes to my mind.

Hello
This is my Iris teucros. The plant is indoor at temperature 10C at day and 7C at night.
Looks OK but the leaves are  kind of beaten.
Is it because not enough fertilizer  or something else.
