Great news Ian, glad to read that you will be carrying on the good work, it is much appreciated, I know, by a lot of people.

Hello Ian and congratulations on completing another year. I am glad to hear that the fun (at least for us readers) will continue.

I am a new member to the Forum but have been reading your log since the beginnings. My garden is rather small (700 sqm including house and garage) situated in Skoghall, on an island near the north shore of Lake Vaenern in Sweden (near Karlstad), about USDA zone 5 I think (depending on the state of climate warming). I grow mostly alpines but also Ericaceae, Clematis, bulbs etc. I have a small greenhouse/alpine house, and am a member of srgc, nargs, STA, the Androsace Group...

When you go to New Zealand (I am envious!) could you say hello to Finn Haugli from me, and from Anders Blomqvist who is a common friend (and Magnolia man) who lives nearby. He will be surprised.

Thank you all for your kind words and a big welcome to the forum Thomas I hope you will go on to make many posts. I will pass on your best wishes to Finn when I see him in New Zealand.
I am working on a series of bulb logs in advance so that they will appear even when I am away. I am leaving it as a surprise what they are about :)

Thanks a lot Ian for this great prospect.

I thought we might get 53 logs next year but its looks like we get 53 weeks in 2009 !

Ian was the wiring in the bulb house put in by a qualified electrician ;D ?

Also can you put me out of my misery for the question I asked in Bulblog 47 please.

Many thanks, Ian, for another year of great pleasure and not a little jealousy at your wonderful bulbs.

I think all wiring circuits have to be put in by a qualified electrician these days?

Thanks, Ian, for all your hard work this year!
Inspired by your logs I've ordered Narcissus "Camoro" from Marcus Harvey's list this season.
Looking forward to catching up and hearing your talks in NZ.
cheers

There is nothing wrong with my wiring - no one has died yet!!!! :o
I should point out that all my out side wiring is protected by a very sensitive saftey cut out.
But I do advise that you should get a qualified electrician.

The crocus in log 47 is C. laevigatus.
