This is really a vain hope- if anyone has an unrequired copy of The Iris by Brian Mathew in their bookcase and would be willing to sell it to me for a reasonable price would they please Private Mail me.

There doesn't seem to be a second-hand copy available anywhere in the UK.

David,
I might be able to help---I think I actually have multiple copies - let me check when I get back to the house from my seed office later today.

What are you calling reasonable David ?

I've just looked on a well known second hand book site and they have two.

If somebody is going to buy you a Christmas present how about 'The Genus Iris' by W.R. Dykes only £850 ;D.

I saw a copy when I was down at Wisley once and a very nice book it was !!

Andrew, did you mean on Amazon? If you did I found them this evening-expensive though, but not as expensive as Dykes. I've found Brian Mathew's The Crocus at £135 but those kind of prices are out of my league :'(

David,

I am sort of interested in that book myself, but that converts to close to $300 once the pound is converted to the dollar here in Aus.  Ouch.  :o  Apparently it is an impressive book, and I DO so want a good monograph of Crocus.  Anyone want to spring a nice Christmas present for me!!??  ::)

 ;D
Cheers.
