I wonder how long you'd need to keep a pot of crocus indoors to give the pollen a chance to germinate and fertilise the plant? Long enough to etiolate it past redemption?
Almost at the end of another wonderful year of Bulb Logs, Ian. Many thanks for all your work, and for allowing us into your garden every week.

Fabulous peshmenii in this week's log. Do they always have two 'eyes'? Love the troughs and your plants.
Thanks for another year of blogs!

Anne, I have always wondered that myself, I suspect it would more likely be a few days rather than a few hours, may be some one out there can tell us.
I would not worry about the etiolation as that would only be for this season and if it meant you got seed it would be well worth the sacrifice.
My position is that all the bulbs will be rooting out into the sand plunge by now and I have no intention of disturbing them and risking damaging the roots by moving them.
Thanks to you all for your continued support.
