Another great log, Ian. What temperature do you store your packets of bulb seeds in? Also, what is your regime for controlling slugs? I'm sure if I tried that beautiful little lily (I mean the plant not the dog) it wouldn't last 5 minutes before the molluscs got it.

Do you know, I don't know what temp. the seed is stored at. Half the time the fridge is switched off and the seed is just keeping cool and dark in it.... Ian has told what that temp. is but I can't remember!
We only use slug pellets in the glass houses occasionally and very seldom use them out of doors. We hunt a lot!! Actually, slugs and snails have not tended to be a huge problem on the wee lilies but we do watch 'em pretty closely. A hungry mollusc can do a lot of harm to a wee plant in a very short time, as you know! :'(

Thanks, Maggi. I also hunt, but by midsummer it is past my bedtime by the time it's dark enough!

Anne I may have some seed left of Lilium nanum, if you would like it. Failing some now, I'll certainly have plenty next summer (7 months). Not that I'm especially wanting to feed your molluscs....... :-\ It flowers from seed in about 2 and a half or 3 years, depending on when sown and germinated.

Thanks Leslie, maybe I could grow them in my shade house, which is more thoroughly patrolled.

in bulblog 21 is a picture of a purple Corydalis which you received from Peter Korn, I bought a plant that looks the same from him and the label says Corydalis capitata. The plant I have flowers for the second year.

Hi, Ulla, yes, Arisaema said the same thing and Ian has just returned from Sweden saying.... that Corydalis is C. capitata!! Thanks, Friends for your help. :D
