Title: BULB LOG 41 9th October 2013

I'm so jealous of your success with Scoliopus. My S. hallii have died out while S. bigelovii, obtained in 2008, have never been more than three plants. They have never set seed either

I think that even Alf Evans wrote in 'The Peat Garden' that at that time they couldn't get seed on Scoliopus bigelowii in the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh. I imagine they do now....

We do usually get seed set here - if we remember to look before it's dispersed.  I like the tiny S. hallii very much too, such a diminutive plant with such complex looking flowers.
