I like the white with the purple blotches. I had looked at Ashwoods seed list they offer and I don't see Brushstrokes? I do see white with blotches though, would this be it? I ordered seed from ELIZABETH TOWN HELLEBORES, should be getting them in a week or so. First time importing, so I really don't know how long it takes the USDA to inspect the package. Yes, I see now that the Brushstrokes name is from the O'Byrnes in Oregon,
and their parents included some from Ashwood seed. Some of the
Brushstrokes, in a picture widely distributed on the Internet, are like my
plants, but others are not blotched at all.
When I checked the Ashwood catalogue, they call that kind of flower "white
with blotch".

Some of you might remember photos I posted last February of a Hellebore grower in Worcs. http://www.srgc.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3111.0 I heard today he sold his entire collection to Wyevale and move out. He was offered money he couldn't refuse for the farm - Linnet Farm. Check your local Wyevale asap to get some of the best Hellebores |

I just checked their stock list online and they show "3393 orientalis Linnett mixed" 3 liter pots. That's a bunch. I wouldn't be in too much hurry to distrub the Helleborus thibetanus, Mark. How long have you had it? I'd be leaving it be for a good few years to settle properly before trying any division. |

Thanks Stephen. I tickled mine last year because it produced no seeds in 2008. I got only a few seeds.
Elsewhere in the garden there is a small group of self sown Hellebore seedlings in an problem place. Can I lift them now? I better get a photo tomorrow to make sure they are Hellebores.

IMO, hellebores definitely benefit from having last year's leaves cut away, and having the flowers removed after they fade. Otherwise you get endless seedlings that are hard to find good homes for. |

here in Belgium, Arboretum Kalmthout, we have a Helleborus show from 11/02 until 14/02. I will show some verry nice botanical things, here 3 pictures to show that it are beauties, H.torquatus, H.croaticus and H.torquatus 'Dido',
